The supermarket tomato is but a red variation of cardboard. Once you've had an heirloom tomato, you won't go back to the supermarket kind.

The best salad for me: heirloom tomato, avocado and basil with a light dusting of salt, pepper and garlic powder. Add a little bit of extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Great lunch!

Yes.....we love heirloom tomatoes. We can get them at Whole Foods or Randall’s (our area’s name for Safeway :).

Sounds delish.....similar to salads we enjoy.

Agree on that.

We have an orchard here that has a big variety of fruits and vegetables, but the best are the tomatoes they bring down from Utah.
