On this date in 1787, the Constitution is signed and sent to the 13 states for ratification. 9 of the 13 states had to ratify before it could be adopted.
Delaware (yeah!) was the first state to ratify the Constitution on December 7, 1787.
Also, this is my 100,000th post on Free Republic.
