I have been following the saga of contractors … LG, if you have any questions about the mold remediation I can ask my son, that’s what he does for a living.
I am SO frustrated with all this right now. This storm cleanup is close to $50k, and we are out nearly $30k, and now the insurance adjuster is ghosting us. It takes us getting our agent involved just to get a reply.
And to make matters worse, I hate having to backtrack these contractors and have them come back and fix mistakes or finish the job they bid. It is crazy that we are here two months later and still dealing with this. And what is with workers coming at 10 and leaving at 3ish? My work day starts at 7:00. Some of these jobs took 2-3 days with 5 people, half of whom were standing around.
Anyway, yesterday I had to run and catch goats and dogs, because these guys left gates open even after I asked them twice not to. I had all the animals penned up out of their way too.
Sorry for the vent. It’s driving me batty. To make matters worse, a floor I had tiled in February is crumbling, so it has to be redone in a few weeks. At the same time we are moving to the basement while having our hardwoods refinished. That is a project that we have postponed 5 times already even though we paid a down payment (before all heck broke loose) 😩
I’m losing it, lol

Seems like all we get here are incompetent people who don’t listen. But they keep their jobs because the others don’t even show up.
Just got back from Wally World where we bought food and paper goods for a weekend Church Retreat to read your UPLIFTING post. LOL
We are the 3 Musketeers of insurance repair work.
So far, we haven’t gotten far enough into it to be frustrated with workers or the adjuster whom we’ve never met.
We have realized that depending on need the demo crew will be sent to other places. just as long as they tell us we will work with them.
Nice to know that I can direct any questions to you if there are questions with the mold remediation. So far all we know is we can’t be here for 4 or 5 hours when they do it.
I’m so sorry you are having such problems getting stuff done and with your adjuster, makes one want to scream and start hitting things.
You know the saying, what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger.
We all will be able to bench press weights just like MTG when we are all done with these repair projects.

I don’t know what it is, exactly, but....something is definitely up with workers/work crews, these days.
A whole new world. So many are reminding me of Alf and Ralph (?) on Green Acres....the two who could never get a job or repair right 😫
