We never have to worry about "school shooters" either - fat chance anyone makes it into our "school" that doesn't belong here.

I drove a church school bus part time for a few years to help pay my kids tuition. My instructions were quite clear for those young children.
If there was no parent, guardian or a known responsible adult relative at the bus stop to meet them, bring them back to school. Then the parent(s) had to come to school and pick them up. Not even once did I ever see that happen.
