I have these Africans and Indians telling me that she does not get the full amount of $100 million Nigerian dollars and should only get the $10,000 back. I tried to explain to them that the win belongs to her because it was her money and she did not relinquish ownership of the money.

He owes it all back. If she’s feeling generous, she can give him gas money if he used a car to go gamble and maybe a bag of chips as a tip, the last thing he’ll ever get from her.

You’re right. If he stole the money from her to gamble, then all the winnings should be hers.
However, because she left the money on the shelf in his home, he could argue that he thought she left it for him.
