Yes the GOP has a plan. Straddle the fence until the most likely outcome becomes clear. Then jump on the bandwagon and loudly proclaim that they were there all along.
Just look at the current slate of candidates. They’re all running against Trump but vowing to support him if he wins the nomination, however, should Trump be convicted, they’ll read the room again and act accordingly. Their only priority is their own political survival.

The "national divorce" is well underway and has been since lockdowns. People are fleeing blue states for more free red states IN DROVES. Look at the outflow of people from New York, California, New Jersey and here in HELLINOIS where blue state tyrannnical governors have vice grip controls on state legislatures and issue whatever decrees they want at will.
They do so with the mindset of "the Constitution be damn'ed" too and they'll continue to do so.
So do we really need a revolution with guns, bullets, blood, death, etc.. going on?
Nope. Smart people are moving and voting with their wallet, tax dollars, jobs and votes all by themselves.
The national divorce is a work in progress, and likely to take some number of years (my guess: 10) to finalize.
In the meantime, cities like New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Baltimore, Washington D.C., Seattle, Portland and more are dying. Coincidence? Nope. Big City Blue Democrat run.
Outlying and more rural areas are oft becoming the destination of choice for many, recognizing that their fellow citizens simply cannot be trusted and beyond good fences, good distances away from them, make good neighbors.
As for those big cities, let 'em burn. Let 'em have all the druggies, criminal illegals, criminals and the exploitative culture around them.
This is what divorces are for.
