Yes, those are Digital Camera lightning effects.
(Not evidence of Directed Energy Weapons.)
You will get entirely different effects using a shutter based 35MM film camera.
In digital cameras, sensor sensitivity, size, settings and speed will also vary the results.

The blue moon was BRIGHT last night - and this morning also!
I observed it with the binoculars, but didn’t bother training the telescope on it today.
Something else that’s bright - and was just rising a little while ago - Venus. Binoculars only on that space object too, since I had to trudge out under the power lines to see low enough in the eastern sky. The sun will be up soon here in eastern TN.
