That makes him stupid on purpose. Which is worse than just being stupid. He’s not a true believer, he’s a dedicated moron.

A very dangerous attitude. I am not mad at Philman_36. I kind of like him for his creativity. He is wrong, but lots of people are wrong all the time.

The attitude is dangerous because people who claim someone who is wrong about something shows they are stupid, undervalues and underestimates them. I suspect Philman_36 would make a great company commander and fitting sharer of foxholes, but I wouldn't want to put him in the Space Force or Air Force, or Navy.

Do not underestimate people because you know they are wrong about something.

It’s the truth. Willfully ignorant people, your “true believers”, are people who have decided to be stupid. That is the reality of the situation. And they useless. And the world will be better when they die.

No he’d be a lousy company commander because he has no ability to use logic. He’d just do what he was told and completely ignore how the facts on the ground have changed and now that plan is going to get all his men killed. A good commander has to be able to think.

I’m not underestimating him. He’s not just “wrong about something” he has specifically chosen to be remain permanently wrong about basic facts of the universe. He has decided up is down and will not be swayed. He is beneath contempt, he is of no value. And excuse mongering people who want to be stupid just encourages them.
