Atmospherics will have an effect on the optics. We have a lot and the moon has virtually none. The sun and moon are in our atmosphere inside of the firmament.

The sun and moon are in our atmosphere inside of the firmament. I have wondered about CMEs for a while concerning a flat Earth. If the sun is as close as you say why does it take 3 or 4 days for a CME to get to us?
