Why would he have to say that? I’d just laugh at such a question and say “The Supreme Court has already taken that question out of the hands of Congress and given it back to the states, so any “national abortion ban” would be unconstitutional and not relevant to discuss.”
I thought Burgum did it right. He said unequivocally he would not support a Federal Abortion Ban, although as Governor, he did sign one of the strictest Abortion bans in the country.
That would actually be a good response. And it seems to be literally true. Congress cannot override the Supreme court with a mere law reinstating what they struck down.
