Well there’s more too it - apparently it wasn’t on the main chart because their nav team didn’t use all their nav resources to transfer it. And they were travelling at a high rate of speed apparently.
The mount wasn’t exactly located on the other resources but would have had an impact on how they traversed the area.

Not on the charts: Yeah, that’s what I’ve said from the splat-go. If they didn’t load all the available chart data everybody in that control room belongs in jail. Ships crew does not have to go around begging for charts. Shoreside mission planners put that package together for them.
Going clear back to Mush Morton and the Wahoo we know what that bottom looks like. And that cute little part about using speed in their own patrol area helps make my suspicion about another vessel maybe being involved.
