Four great young American women. It doesn’t get any better.
Well 3 of them did, the 4th one on the right end apparently doesn’t know the words.
Here’s a video of the moment that I decided to become a swimmer. USA sweeps bronze, silver and gold in the 200 fly at Munich in ‘72. Medal ceremony at the end. The three American flags being raised is burnt into my memory.
It was amazing. The US team had been shut out from any gold medals. The East German team just completely dominated the competition (kind of like that tranny male swimmer dominated the NCAA swim competition last year). When you looked at the American women swimmers, yeah, they looked strong - but they looked like women. The East German women, regretfully not so (not trannies, but the victims of their East German doctors and trainers - and very 'masculine' in their appearance).
But, somehow, the American Women put in a record breaking performance and took the gold medal in the last contest in this Olympics. They did the Nation proud. No steroids, no human growth hormones (or whatever the East Germans were using to dope/poison their women atheletes), just pulling it out of their hearts

The joke was they had to shave their backs. That was a great race. I remember that one well. The turn on the 3rd 100 did the DDR in.
Great to see, and a great job by the ladies!
A for effort. At least she’s not giving middle finger, kneeling, turning around, etc. I know that is low requirements, but after the year we’ve had, I’ll take it.
