Weirdly enough, when I was at lunch today with a group of people, one of them said that her husband ( a retiree and very leftwing) goes to get tested every time they’re going to visit relatives. Of course, he frequently comes back positive, since the tests are highly inaccurate and on top of that simply identify any exposure to any virus.
They’ve been ramping up the virus hysteria here, so this time, instead of visiting the grandchildren with his wife, he went after his positive test and “quarantined” in a hotel for a week. This has the approval of the entire family, who thanked him for “saving” them.
These are well-educated people, and their younger family members are teachers and mid-level city employees.
Never underestimate the power of fear among leftists, who think every word from the government drops from the lips of God and who know that only the government can protect them from life.
The problem is that they impose this craziness on all the rest of us.
