A few weeks ago, I had the displeasure of watching a black rat snake first constrict an unfortunate chipmunk, then swallow its dying body. It was like watching a train wreck. I averted my eyes once, then turned back to figure out what animal it had, walked away, then came back minutes later to see if it had finished the job. It was right near my car (door), which I was in the middle of loading. I didn’t want it to get very close to me, so I had to keep my eyes out for whatever movement was going on. I was happy to be finished with my task. I hate snakes. Even baby ones. Even non-poisonous ones. They’re all gross to me.
Just like my wife: The only good snake is a dead snake.............
She will kill even our numerous ‘legless lizards’ we have here.....................
Circle of life. And a chipmunk is just a tree rat.
