Regular backing-up of your files is your friend.
The program at that web site helped me recover my entire 3TB hard drive after Windows crashed. It's free and with a little trial and error, you should be able to get your MP3s back.
Keep us informed.
Yep. Multiple copies, too. I have some FLAC/MP3 files I've ripped from our collection of roughly 1,500 CDs (a lot of CD compilations & greatest hits among them). Used mainly for our vehicles. I can gather the music again if I were to lose them, but it would be a lot of work (especially getting the tagging right for the vehicle displays). As such, I have the files on FIVE different drives. Yeah, I'm that paranoid.
I learnt early in the PC revolution in 1993 that one really needs at least two computers and many HDs.
Multiple backups that are regularly examined and updated is key.
“Regular backing-up of your files is your friend.”
Yes indeed, and you can buy a 128gb thumb drive for less than $15. To me that’s mind boggling — something the size of a couple of cigarettes, for less than $15, storing 128gb!!!
Backup speed might be slow but just start it, go away, and come back later.
Get several of them. Hide them in various places.
