On a bright Saturday afternoon, State Trooper Al Loney witnessed a motorcycle travel 205 mph. You read that right.

Moderately modified Hayabusa of the time.
Buzzards gotta eat too.
I have to laugh at the photos they used of the bike.
Some POS profile cruiser that likely has issues getting up to 85 mph.
dont some bikers add nitrous to get those speeds?
As a 16 year old I was caught speeding at 90 mph. I had just maxed out at 105.
The trooper said I was the fastest one he had caught that week. (Late evening, empty road in the north country.)
“I don’t suppose I get a reward for that?”
“Nope. Just this ticket.”
Because I was so young I had to see a judge and he revoked my license for 6 months. Served me right.
Nowadays a 16 year old can carjack somebody and is out the following day it seems.
“He wipes out at 205mph and there isn’t much left”
About 10 years ago a young sailor left the Navy base where I worked on a sport bike.
While not even close to 200 mph, leaving the main gate and then into the 4 lane he was going so fast he couldn’t avoid an SUV that had pulled out in front of him.......at impact his body seperated, (for lack of a better term) into 5 seperate and distinct pieces........on a motorcycle speed = reaction time......the faster you go the less reaction time you have and vice versa......basic motorcycle training 101......IMO sport bikers are mostly idiots.
never got a speeding ticket
but got chased a few times for riding a dirt bike on the road
too easy to get away
just go off road
they cant follow
Live and learn, right?

Do you know why I stopped you???
because I let you?
Yep, and lucky to be alive through some of that stuff!
Well, going too fast is never an issue for v-twin cruisers.
As Dirty Harry said, “A man has to know his limitations”
Yeah.....and I’m still alive.
At least he had his helmet on.
It started to get a lil squirrely.
I started ya get a little chicken..
That's enough for me thankyaverymuch.. d;^)
I once owned a GS450 Suzuki cafe racer.
It had small wind shield. It was excellent on acceleration. You could hit 90 MPH very quickly.
Ability and sanity are not the same.
I did not do that many times.
My younger brother was a bit more daring than I am.
He survived some amazing catastrophes. He died of cancer (3rd round) last November.
As a young fella, I road raced super bikes in the Mid to late 80’s.
Went to California Super Bike School in 1987. I would not swear to being completely accurate, but I believe at 200 mph you are traveling 325 feet per second. Not much time to react to hazards. Race track is much safer. Everything is moving at the same pace.
Yep. Had a work buddy who got t-boned doing no more than 25 by a SUV. He didn’t know where he was. Lucky he had on his bike gear.
