“He wipes out at 205mph and there isn’t much left”
About 10 years ago a young sailor left the Navy base where I worked on a sport bike.
While not even close to 200 mph, leaving the main gate and then into the 4 lane he was going so fast he couldn’t avoid an SUV that had pulled out in front of him.......at impact his body seperated, (for lack of a better term) into 5 seperate and distinct pieces........on a motorcycle speed = reaction time......the faster you go the less reaction time you have and vice versa......basic motorcycle training 101......IMO sport bikers are mostly idiots.
Well, going too fast is never an issue for v-twin cruisers.
As Dirty Harry said, “A man has to know his limitations”
As a young fella, I road raced super bikes in the Mid to late 80’s.
Went to California Super Bike School in 1987. I would not swear to being completely accurate, but I believe at 200 mph you are traveling 325 feet per second. Not much time to react to hazards. Race track is much safer. Everything is moving at the same pace.
Yep. Had a work buddy who got t-boned doing no more than 25 by a SUV. He didn’t know where he was. Lucky he had on his bike gear.
