Portland doctor said a homeless man knocked her unconscious while walking in the city, and then she waited more than 20 minutes without a police response.

"I do not hold the police accountable for this at all — I hold our city accountable for defunding the police," Mary Costantino, a radiologist, told Fox News. "We don't have enough police force to protect our citizens, and we did this to ourselves."

The people are the police. The uniformed police are just court officers and watchmen, who also pull traffic and crowd control duties. Other than a few other things, everything else they are assigned is superfluous and just adds to their burden.

This is why an armed public are so important. Because they are the ones that instantly respond. They are the ones that interrupt crimes in progress. They can be everywhere, not just in limited areas for a brief time.

I believe you. I have lived in southern NH since 1985.
The segregation in the city is what keeps it peaceful. You never hear about some drive by shooting in Boston or Cambridge. You do hear about them in Dorchester or Mattapan.
Years ago Roxbury was also the main suburb for Blacks. However, because it abuts Jamaica Plain it has become a place for yuppies to move to. Just like Southie has become too expensive for many of the poor working class Irish.

Mary Costantino, a radiologist, told Fox News. “We don’t have enough police force to protect our citizens, and we did this to ourselves.”

She went on to say: “we did this to ourselves by defunding the police. Its not their fault.”

But nonetheless, she will very likely continue to vote democrat, because where one failed to solve the problem, the next one or the one after that surely will as everyone knows.

By far the absolutely SAFEST place to live in Boston is the North End. A single woman I know rents a one bedroom apartment there. She is a lawyer and works right in the Government Center section of downtown. She walks to work.
She never has a problem in the North End. The only issue she has ever had is from drunken college boys around the Faneuil Hall tourist area. Especially right around the big Irish bars. The Italian mob does not allow anyone to do crimes or bother women in THEIR neighborhood. You do and you will end up in the Mystic River.

Costantino said seeing the deterioration of public safety in Portland "100%" changed her voting habits.

"I absolutely did not vote for Jo Ann Hardesty," she said, referring to a previous city commissioner who supported defunding the police in 2020. In the governor’s election, she cast her vote for Republican Christine Drazan.

The University of Houston is in the hood. On day after a game, we stopped for gas by the campus and was told stop what you are doing and get out of here. I’m like you don’t want me to support local and the guy said no, they are Korean and get the F out of here. Now there is a racist. Parents, inform your children to stay on campus or drive away from the hood to shop. 30 years ago, leaving the campus, they were on each corner , signaling they were there to sell drugs. At least, I think that is what they were signaling...

Sounds like Portland (and Seattle) need more Antifa naked bike rides and transgender story hours — to raise civic pride.

She lives in a democrat hellhole... moving to a gated community only postpones the inevitably.. If she wants to live in a sane place she needs to move to a red state... and leave the hellhole behind.

She’ll get more for her home now before everyone else figures out democrat hellholes only get worse, and worse and worse. Democrats are the party of criminals, cartels and corrupt ‘elites’ from hell.
