This is the same argument used by RINOs in their various incarnations since the 1950s. In essence, they berate conservatives for being too extreme and cajole them to support the candidate supported by the Chamber of Commerce/country club faction. So with the exceptions of Reagan and Trump we have gotten a string of moderates, from Eisenhower to Romney, who do little to nothing to advance limited government and reverse Democrat initiatives. What is the benefit of supporting the RINO du jour if the leftist agenda moves forward, albeit at a slower speed, than under a Johnson, Carter, Clinton, Obama, or Biden?
