DeSantis says Trump can't win in a general election: 'Those are just the realities'
Fox News ^ | July 31, 2023 | Ashley Carnahan

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sat down with "Special Report" on Monday for a wide-ranging interview, offering insight into whether former President Donald Trump can win in a general election.

DeSantis said he doesn’t believe Trump can win in 2024 because there are "too many voters who just aren't going to vote for him going forward."

"I saw it in Florida in my re-election. You know, I won the first time by less than a percent, second time by ‘20. Why did people vote against me in ‘18 but then voted for me in ‘22? The number one reason they gave was because of Trump."

"Because in ‘18 they said that they were voting against Trump. Voting against me, to vote against Trump, even though they didn't know much about me," he said. The Florida governor handily won re-election in November 2022, defeating Democratic candidate Charlie Christ by nearly 20 points.

DeSantis also told host Bret Baier that Trump can’t win crucial states like Georgia and Arizona in a general election.

"The polls that come out… I beat Biden in Georgia. Trump doesn't. I beat Biden soundly in Arizona. Trump doesn't. Those are just the realities," he said.

"And I also think in terms of the base, you need to have a cadre of personnel. If you want to slay this administrative state, you've got to be disciplined, you've got to be focused, and you've got to have people surrounding you that are going to go and support the mission. I think the former president would have a very difficult time getting the type of personnel to join the administration that you would need to actually bring this stuff to fruition," he continued.

No, you don’t get it.

They hated Trump. More than they liked Biden.

We have had these apparent situations before - some candidates people love so much their party comes out in force, others the other party hates so much they come out in force. There are FOR juggernauts, and AGAINST juggernauts.

The biggest problem for Desantis and any other candidate Not Trump is that EverTrumpers will act childish like their lord and savior, take their ball and go home. That will be the biggest problem this election, which has probably never happened before. Dem wins.

Why do you need Stacy Abrams when you can have Brian Kemp? Hollywood sure appreciates him.

Where is this proof of being mere establishment? Where is proof Trump is not? There is a lot of mixing of people called evil RINOs in both camps.

Just saying so doesn’t make it so. Goebbels thinks that way.

Never mind the strange reliance on rallies, which basically DeSantis has not done, period. Not a big fan of endless “rallies”, anyway. Especially as president. It looks too much like paper-hanging personality cult - and narcissism.

The most obvious answer, and it’s not at all clear why you don’t see it, was the undercutting of Korean tensions. The Deep State went crazy, mostly in the form of Bolton.

Yet there he was, undoing a major Swamp revenue source in the form of Korean garrison.

As to the use of GOP people to staff positions, I don’t think he realized the depth of the filth. They likely made good sounds in the interviews about how they would root out Swamp activity. Remember his Secy of State choice was absolutely NOT a career politician. But he didn’t last because he was told every day how to keep the Swamp intact rather than follow the President’s path. This is not an unusual State Dept reality. They are nearly always ultra doves. Exxon didn’t have doves and hawks. He could not work with that staff.

This time upcoming . . . this is the source of Swamp terror. They know there will be no GOPe nominations. He’ll bring in people like construction contractor businessmen to run HUD. This is a huge threat to the filth.

At least Kemp isn't a gun banner, unlike Trump and most certainly Stacey Abrams, in addition to many other conservative attributes that Kemp champions and Trump does not.

Exactly what 99.99% of the political class said in 2016.

The legislation was limited to one state, so his presumed gain in covering his RINO status was greater than the loss from passing MAGA legislation.

What DeSanctus didn’t know was his cover would be blown by the sheer competence of his greatest enemy—the American people.

“firing Soros prosecutors, flipping Florida crimson red, advancing conservatism, and winning elections”

The cabal’s calculus is that their losses as you list them above will be balanced by the DeSantis attacks on Trump and MAGA.

But as described thoroughly on this forum, the anti-MAGA cabal are losers, lowlifes and low IQ.

Explain one logical scenario where DeSantis gets to and wins the general election. If you can’t do that then you are the one who does not get it.

I think you’d be surprised at what the military has become.

The average (mean) age on a Navy ship is 21. That includes the Skipper, the XO, etc. The military is young, by design. These kids have been steeped in wokism in school and now they’re getting a double whammy of it in the military.

Wokism is the desperate and pathetic last attempt by the cabal to hang on to their power which was stolen from us by cowards and frankly a bunch of homos.

To put it in naval terms, their ship is already sinking.

RDS better get his Fanny back to Florida and act like he’s concerned about that China spy base in Cuba. I think we are running on remote right now.
