I agree with you re: movies. It could also be expanded to TV. Just tell a story, don't preach at me! I want entertainment and escapism. I don't want my consciousness raised or to be educated, i.e. brainwashed.
I want HEA shows. That's the sole reason I watch When Calls the Heart. Very silly scripts. The costumes and scenery are unrealistic. The hair and make-up are out-of-the time period. But, it always ends without drama and hysteria.

Well you know what I mean, in my post.You like this show ,Calls of the Heart.It's all about entertainment.I go to my recorded old movies.
Too Bad there is so few to choose from these days with all the cable channels we have.
Lately I just watch anything that is old,because I read news daily and on here also.

We watch When Calls the Heart as well.
Good people handling life as it comes at them, and helping each other along the way.
Set in Western Canada, before WW1 when it began. In the late teens now (no flappers yet). Horses not completely replaced by cars yet.
(Sunday nights at 9pm on the Hallmark channel. Now in Season 10.)
