This is why I'm thinking Cadbury might be smart enough that I could check him out on doing some tricks. Originally nobody was allowed on any counter. But he would sit way over at his desk area and watch what I was doing, and I kind of liked the company. So I decided he could come over on the counter where we only put papers and stuff like that. Then that expanded to the bar part of the counter, where I never put any food there either, just plants and stuff. He's fascinated by the sink and anything in it, so that gives him a place to view it.



He taught himself this one. His entire kitten hood, I would put everybody on the scale one at a time to check their weight. I'm still doing that with him because everybody had a case of Giarda, which has a very high reinfection rate. So I still weigh him once a week. After he figured out where the boundaries are of where he could go, I guess he decided the scale was included! He will stretch way over on the bar area to reach the scale and then jump over there. And then he will sit there and not even let a foot touch the counter. And leave the same way


I can't really remember how I trained to Cotton but I have a couple books. I remember it's totally different than dogs though, for example to get them to sit you can't push there heintens down. The cat will take offense, watch themselves, and then March off. LOL. You have to make them think it's their idea and that they are making you give them treats by doing it.

I think i may have told you, my daughter had a job at one time training Hollywood animals. She said regular domestic cats were the hardest.
