In WA every city has it’s own tax rate. “The 8.9% sales tax rate in Pasco consists of 6.5% Washington state sales tax and 2.4% Pasco tax. There is no applicable county tax or special tax.”
So 6.5% of sales from Cannibis goes to the state. The state then keeps a portion of that then disburses an amount back to the cities that have Cannibis Retail stores according to their population.
Our city manager (at the time) estimated Pasco would get approximately $200,000 which is a drop in the bucket considering.
I just can’t get past how many people believe it is OK for people to use Cannibis (which is a mind altering drug)
In the open public forum a MEDICAL WORKER (who was all for Cannibis) got up and stated that whoever he worked for (I assumed a nursing home) DOESN’T REQUIRE RANDOM URINE TESTS. They just have, to have, NOT USED in 4 hours before coming to work. Does anyone really belive ALL these users are going to tell the truth of when they last used.
