He fell off the paddleboard and drowned? He was good swimmer. A paddleboard floats. Couldn’t he just grab it. Unless the person he was with hit him, drugged him or otherwise impeded him.
Or he had a heart attack or stroke or some other medical emergency. But still why not a report from the person who was there.

I saw that he had just learned to swim. But was good enough to get back to his board. You only have to know to dog paddle to do that.
