Hunter Biden continues to be a "good standing" member of the Washington, D.C. Bar despite facing multiple criminal charges and violating the organization's rules of professional conduct.
First reported by the Daily Caller, Biden told the judge during his first appearance in a Wilmington, Delaware federal court, in which his expected plea deal ultimately collapsed, that he was a member of the D.C. and Connecticut Bars.
According to the D.C. Bar website, Biden remains a member in "good standing," despite the rules of professional conduct stating that it is misconduct for a lawyer to "commit a criminal act that reflects adversely on the lawyer’s honesty, trustworthiness, or fitness as a lawyer in other respects."
The rules also explain that "many kinds of illegal conduct reflect adversely on fitness to practice law, such as offenses involving fraud and the offense of willful failure to file an income tax return." Biden faces two counts of willful failure to pay federal income tax, to which he pleaded "not guilty."
Another rule dictates attorneys risk the "possibility of probationary conditions" in cases of "addiction to drugs or intoxicants." According to the text of Hunter's failed plea deal, he "has a well-documented and long-standing struggle with substance abuse."
Another bar rule states it is misconduct to "state or imply an ability to influence improperly a government agency or official."
According to IRS whistleblower testimony from a May House Ways and Means Committee hearing, Biden threatened a Chinese business associate in 2017 by texting him that he was sitting next to his father, Joe Biden.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Thursday dismissed the possibility of President Biden issuing a pardon for Hunter, although the president and First Lady Jill Biden have expressed "support" for their son following his not guilty pleas.

It’s a low bar.
Many can’t pass.
So, him smoking crack, weighing crack, videoing himself of having sex with MULTIPLE hookers, alleged human trafficking and pimping and him getting a foot job’ from a young girl who just MAY be his underage niece of his dead brother whose wife he screwed -all videoed by him - is all ok by the standards of the bar association?
And wasn’t hillary unable to pass the DC Bar exam?
Hunter could rape children and he’d be in ‘good standing’ with the DC thugs and goons.
Not a surprise. We knowcwhat attorneys are. He is one of their own.
More hygienic too.
I suspect the bar is pretty low. After all, the Bar is comprised of lawyers.
This gives you a clue as to how reputable the DC Bar is.
So Hunter is a member of both the DC and CT bar? Why not Delaware? Could it be that someone took the exam for him and not Delaware since he would be recognized?
BTW:
Where did Hunter go to law school? Yale
Biden arrived as a transfer in the fall 1994. This means…
He was accepted sometime in the winter/spring that same year
The Dean of Yale Law at that time was Guido Calabresi
It was well known that Calabresi’s ambition was to serve on the federal bench
On February 9th, 1994, Bill Clinton nominated Calabresi to the 2nd Circuit, where he still serves
Thus, Biden’s acceptance to Yale Law and Calabrisi’s appointment were contemporaneous
Chairing the Judiciary Committee at that time – the man responsible for confirming Calabresi’s nomination – was none other than Joe Biden.
Calabresi sailed through the process
I'm sure it's not, but it also hasn't been litigated, and you're talking about a group of lawyers, not outraged decent human beings.
I'm sure that's one reason why Hunter's plea deal in Delaware avoided a guilty plea to a felony. That would have suspended his law license.
If he pays the big guy he can.
If he pays the big guy he can.
P
It’s the D.C. Bar nuff said.
this will prolly get humper elevated to “preferred” status in the DC Bar?
King's son ........ privilege.
Be quiet and go back to your tent city! 😒
He never passed a bar without slipping a Jefferson in the stripper’s G-string.
