Not always, though . . . do you recall a TV series called Monsters Inside Me? Each week featured vignettes about things like parasites, spider bites, scorpion stings, etc. One segment told of two teenage boys walking the woods found a dead armadillo.

I wonder what the painting is behind him in the statement... re:
A painting of before/after a royal hunt, (comms); a couple of searches were completed.
a) Raw image searches and selected portions were not conclusive
b) General web searches were not readily confirmed for "hunt", "bay horse and dog", "fox hunt" or "royal hunt"
Then stumbled upon the Sauce Pan:

The style is reminiscent of the following reference in the above catalogue (2016) as follows:
