Chattanooga needs a bypass. Actually, the cleveland/Chattanooga metropolis needs a bypass on 75, and I-24 eastbound needs a way to get to the south without going through the city.
But the city of Chattanooga wants people to pass through and stay overnight - those hotel taxes must be pretty big.
On my travels to Florida, which I do on occasion to visit family, I leave home around 4 AM, so I’m through all that mess well before traffic pics up. My goal there is to be through Atlanta before 6 AM or so.
My daughter has to go to Atlanta twice a month for business and she takes that fast toll road. I forget what it’s called. Something like that might help at the split on 75 to Atlanta.
