It's ridiculous. The slacker has no clue. Now dad is screaming at hit while whiping the mower all around. We are doomed....
Push or rider? Call Manuel Labor. He can play his Mexican Bagpipes to clean the place up.
Can the kid operate a manual can opener?
It’s a battery mower to boot.
Both hilarious and sad at the same time.
Earlier today I changed a flat tire for some guy that had no clue.
Weird day..
Whoa..now the F words are flying..
The kid might be playing it smart. Maybe he’s stooging the old man:
KID: “I didn’t quite get that part; ya wanna show me again on the next time around?”
Gawd My son was mowing our lawn as soon as he could reach the handle. My daughter was his de facto babysitter as latch key kids and was doing laundry, starting dinner etc at age 12.
I started when I was 6. My 5-year-old brother and I each grabbed one side of the push-mower handle and mowed in a random pattern, while our dad watched, amused. Periodically, we laid down to see if we had done a good job.
We hadn’t.
I was 8 and had to empty the Lawn Boy grass catcher bag into a plastic garbage bag, god that sucked on a 90 plus degree day.
Learned helplessness. That didn’t fly for my kids.
A wonder any kid wants to learn any kind of work. Probably was late 1970s when my mother in law tried asking every kid on the two or three blocks nearby if they wanted to mow her lawn for money every week. Not one felt motivated to say yes.
Old cartoon of father giving his son a book as a present.
“Thanks, dad. Where do I plug it in?”
Another example of why this country is totally screwed.
At least he didn’t throw you in the river to learn how to swim. It hard cutting you way out of a gunny sack.
Could be an inattentive student.
Could be an impatient teacher.
You never know.
😬
I mowed 4 lawns and had a paper route at 12. Beer and cigarettes weren’t cheep.
My daughter could competently drive a car and a tractor at 12. Now she’s 13 and can’t wait to get a license. All is not lost…yet
Times they are a changing......

My then-16 year old son hit a tree root while mowing with a gasoline engine mower, and bent the blade from a long thin rectangle into an L.
My son had his own lawn biz at 10. Then took shop class and learned he could make more $$$ repairing small engines.
He flipped many push and riding mowers for a LOT of money.
My dad taught me how to mow the lawn.
I was so young I remember pushing UP on the handle.
Dad had to start it.
