A lot of people on this forum can't grasp that concept, either.
SpaceX launches more than once per week. They have more successful launches this year than the rest of the world combined.
No ... Competition is good.
Airlines generally have a choice of GE, P&W or R-R engines for their aircraft. This is a good thing, keeps all the engine manufacturers on their toes.
I want to see Vulcan succeed with the Blue Origin engine.
Is their engine uniquely different from the rptor?
I am not familiar with the differences
Yes - competition is good. But after a while everyone can settle on the best mousetrap, and not spend tons of money for minimal gain.
Town named West. North central Texas. SE of Dallas I think.
From the late 1950s, there were the Vanguard and Redstone rockets that exploded at or shortly after launch, many of which we got to see on TV in real time.
West Texas is also Wolfcamp and No Trees and Delaware.
I used to live in Midland.
The article was confusing.
Is “Blue Origin” in West Texas or West, Texas?
But West Texas is only about 65 miles south of Dallas.
West TX 76991
Location of fertilizer explosion that killed many.
That’s why the media should have said “Bezos penis rocket engine exploded in Midland, in west Texas.”
Not West Texas.
Capitalization has meaning.
It’s a shame he wasn’t in it
BTW, what the heck are they doing it there for?
The grass/weeds are so dry, it is like gasoline over there.
Yes, it is not as good.
It is my understanding that the Raptor and other SpaceX designs are the most efficient and highest thrust producing rocket engines in existence currently.
I don't think anyone else comes close to SpaceX designs in terms of efficiency or thrust produced for a given size.
The Midland area is so dry that nothing grows on the soil. What little grows can be easily graded away for fireproof testing areas. If you want something to grow out there, you have to water it.
