help me understand...

Did you just call another human being an “it” because “it” is disagreeable with the thread?
While I’ve been away living real life and I’m not going to go back through the banter posts to try to figure out who this “it” person is, that is how your comment reads, which, if true, is simply horrible. We’re better than this behavior, aren’t we?

I mean I understand the “it” slap for gender dysmorphic people who intentionally disregard their own underwear evidence, I don’t see such an individual on these threads.

If you did refer to another FR user, who may be paying support to the owners of the site, an “it”, you may be well encouraged to roll that one back, apologize to that user and have your comment deleted. If, on the other hand I’m misunderstanding what I’ve posted here, then accept my apology.

But it certainly reads as a case of the former, rather than the latter.

...that is all

'It' is not unusual terminology for referring to a troll, even on FR. 'It' is not an attempt to dehumanize, but instead to make obvious that user is 'not like the others' and is not sincere in their responses but instead is here to disrupt. It's tempting to keep responding to them as if they are sincere and will respond to us out of their own genuine morals, opinions, values etc., and referring to 'it' reminds the user there is a set script and means of responding that limit that user to at times robotic repetitive, disruptive posts meant to distract.

We've used 'it' on trolls before on this thread and you and the other poster supporting your view never objected, and as I said 'it' has been used in the forum, so I would be surprised if the website objects. I think for some it's an attempt to stop the spin cycle - no need to ping the person and 'start more' if their name is not used - I don't know but that's just a guess.

In your post below, wherein someone suggested you start your own thread to focus on a topic, your reply seemed to imply that I don't live a 3 dimensional life, which I thought was a version of imply 'it' but maybe I was mistaken, and your comment was only a garden variety insult.

Not everyone has time to lord it over a thread, or to monitor against wrongspeak. Most of us have lives lived in three dimensions, which require active participation and minimize time available for your suggestion.

Note my reply to that post was, "Have you thought about posting your thread and not lording over it or monitoring against wrongspeak? Posting that would take about 5 mniutes - even three dimensional people probably have 5 minutes."

Have you given the idea of starting your own thread any more thought? Might you start your own thread wherein you request that people refrain from using the word 'it' ?

No lame excuses...It’s rude. <—that’s a period at the end.
