I have a question with regards to cluster munitions.
Don’t they have to be dropped via aircraft?
How’s this going to work?

I don’t know about aircraft dropping them, all the articles I’ve read indicate they are 155mm artillery shells.

Russia has expressed concerns that the Zelensky regime may commit mass civilian casualties and blame Russia ( this is a real possibility ), so perhaps Zelensky doesn’t need much of a delivery system

Cluster munitions can be deliver via Artillery Shells.

"The United States said it would send Ukraine 155-millimeter artillery shells loaded with explosive grenades called dual-purpose improved conventional munitions, or D.P.I.C.M.s. The shells are designed to break open midair and dispense the grenades over an area to attack both armored vehicles as well as dismounted troops."

I think the plan is to use the ATCAMS

with Cluster munitions, for entrenched positions.

Me thinks this is an alternative to giving the Ukrainians F-16 and F/A-18 aircraft in large enough numbers to destabilize the Russians. Honestly, if they took all of the aircraft that were in storage, put decent pilots in them, they would control the skies not only over Ukraine but likely Russia. Since most of the Russian military is actually in Ukraine, the Russians could potentially collapse entirely. In this scenario, this ‘could’ potentially degenerate into a thermonuclear exchange.

Giving the Ukrainian rockets to retake Ukraine is a much more controllable outcome then giving them an entire air force and expecting them to stop at the border.....

I have two question.

Since cluster bombs are dropped from planes etc... and they’re only going to be used in Ukraine..

. and since civilized countries don’t use them because the unexploded ones can maim and kill people years later...

and since we’re told Ukraine is a democracy...

Why don’t the Ukrainians have a referendum so citizens can weigh in on the use of these horrible cluster bombs. And will Americans be the people who have to ‘find and defuse’ them after this war?

And Second question:

What do we do when Putin uses internationally outlawed horrible weapons too?
