They were the opening act for Journey. and at the end they wrapped them selves with a huge Union Jack flag
I think they had a few minor hits, and John Waite had a small solo career in the mid 80s — they did pretty well. I personally loved them.
Saw John Waite open for Kansas a few years back. Solo act. Everyone was still finding their seats. That was one ticked off singer.
Also hit with “Isn’t It Time 1977”
Isn’t It Time is very similar and also a hit. They also had a couple more. They were more than one hit wonders.
Decent documentary on John Waite on free TubiTV. He is an ok front man and good singer, saw the Baby’s 3 times and enjoyed them. After that Journey tour Jon Cain left the Baby’s and joined Journey, wrote Dont Stop Believing and the rest is history. Cain also wrote Open Arms and tried to get Waite to sing it but he wouldn’t. Steve Perry made it a classic.

Now the band New England was a one hit wonder. They had the one hit "Don't Ever Wanna Lose Ya" in 1979 and that was it for them.
One of the few concerts I went to back then had the Baby’s as the warm up act. The other group was someone big at the time, I can’t even remember.
The Baby’s blew them away. When the main band came up they apologized ahead of time for probably not going to be able to properly follow the act..and they didn’t.
They had many good songs, not too many that’s were smash hits.
Caught them in NYC back in the day...
I believe tickets were only 66 cents and Leggs Diamond opened for them...
Funny thing was people were throwing diapers on stage...
I saw them as the warm-up for Journey around 1980 in Reunion Arena.
Great song!
Remember it well, and the girl I was dating at the time.
People said a love like ours would surely pass... and it did.
They were the opening act for Styx at the Cow Palace in January of 1980. Great show.
The other song by The Babys that was a hit was “Midnight Rendezvous.”
I never heard of them, and that cut was a big “Eh”.
