Just did a quick, superficial search and came up with this. Didn't do the deep read but it does suggest there is more to the story.
Not so privileged afterall? "Nigel Farage fell below the financial threshold required to hold an account at Coutts, the prestigious private bank for the wealthy, the BBC has been told. [Coutts requires its customers to borrow or invest at least £1m with the bank or hold £3m in savings.] It is understood that he was subsequently offered a standard account at NatWest which owns Coutts." https://www.bbc.com/news/business-66097039
A Russian Agent or on the Pay of Russia? "he believed it was due to his being designated in the past as a politically exposed person (PEP)" ... "claimed in the House of Commons that he had been in receipt of payments by Russia." ... “PEP is there to prevent the corrupt use of banking facilities by politicians in corrupt regimes,” (https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2023/jul/03/banks-accused-of-closing-accounts-such-as-nigel-farages-on-political-grounds
So, maybe he is not clean and maybe he just doesn't have the money on hand to have a rich-person's account. Sounds like he can have a bank account, no problem, just not a privileged account. That's whiny. Do we complain because we can't get the "elite" American Express card? Or get one at all?
Told the BBC, Yeah right. You seem to be totally establishment.
This was an excuse. Russia Russia Russia. Can’t you see it?
Thanks. Note that the doomcrying hasnt stopped here.
He’s clean. This is just pure political harassment of the same kind we see here. He’s never been convicted of anything.
