A woman with 800 tattoos says she’s struggling to find gainful employment because bosses cast judgment on her inked-up appearance.
Melissa Sloan, 46, who hails from Wales in the United Kingdom, previously had a job cleaning toilets but says she hasn’t been able to find a similar gig because of the art that adorns her face and body.
“I can’t get a job,” Sloan bluntly told the Daily Star. “I applied for a job cleaning toilets where I live, and they won’t have me because of my tattoos. “People have said I have never had a job in my life, but I have had one once and it didn’t last long,” the mother-of-two added. “If someone offered me a job tomorrow, I would go and work – I would take that offer.”

Gross.
Yuck
I don't think you're in a minority. I feel the same way, and I make a point of telling young, attractive women that they shouldn't get tattoos. I straight up tell them that I've never seen a woman who was improved by them, in my opinion (as a boomer who is now over 60 years old).
Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life.
Idiocy is a terrible affliction.
Yeah, she’d have all that money from not inking herself up to life off of. Of course, she’d have a job. How about she take her toilet cleaning skills and clean that head.
You missed my point. A book doesn’t make decisions about how it looks. People do. And when you are hell bent for self mutilation, then, it is perfectly reasonable for others to make judgements. Even snap judgements.
"How much would all these tattoos cost?"
Who wants to hire someone with obvious mental illness?
“Here’s your sign.”
What a dumb ass. On second thought, that is an exhibition of mental illness.
Too bad for her. Maybe she can get her face replaced with skin grafts.
Ya, thats hard to believe. Have you seen that show “Inkmaster”? Even the idea that some of those people can make other choices well enough to run their own parlor let alone become masters in their field is hard to fathom. Of course, pharmacology has come a long way in the last 20 years and maybe their physician didnt find the right prescription until more recently.
I'd worry about what other uncontrollable compulsions she has.

Well, when they start putting folks like us into camps, they’ll use people like this for the guards.
I don't understand that. How does that show solidarity as siblings? If your sibling decided to screw you over, a tattoo ain't gonna stop it.
The most amazing part of the story to me is that she found a man to impregnate her.
All four of my kids got a small tat yesterday about their solidarity as siblings.

Did anyone else notice the UB40 1980 tattoo on her left arm?
UB40 is the Unemployment Benefits form in the UK...
It’s commemorating a long running family story.
I think tats are generally stupid unless they are very meaningful. This kind of counts.
