Good thing you weren’t home and all the animals were ok. PTL!
We’ve had nearly 8 inches of rain up here in 7 days. Natalie’s garden is all but ruined. A whole acre of everything.....sitting in very wet mud. Tomato plants, pepper plants, sunflowers all toppled over. Cabbages burst. Melons burst and full of bugs. Corn drenched. Broccoli ruined. She may be able to get some of the potatoes and squashes, but all that work starting everything in February in the greenhouses, planting, weeding, haying (they put hay down in the rows and around plants to keep weeds down), tying up, etc. for nothing.
I felt badly for her, as she was planning on freezing so much of it. Thankfully she still has a lot on hand from last year, so it will have to last us through this winter and who knows what these global demons will do to us next year.
