I think being outside in the heat fried my brain. It just didn’t register that you were talking about your friend.

Remember those plastic chairs and benches they used to have in restaurants etc.? Your thighs would stick to them (if you were wearing shorts) and as you tried to side out, all of a sudden there was a SCREECH as you tried to become unstuck to it? Happened to me a few times when I was in my teens,
