2. If Biden is this willing to mistreat and belittle his own staff (on whom he relies and with whom he must interact every day), what does that say about how much he’s willing to look out for the hundreds of millions of Americans who will never meet him?

3. This story surprised me because (a) Senator Biden was known for treating his Senate colleagues respectfully (that extended through his eight years as vice-president), and (b) President Biden has carefully nurtured his reputation as a warm-hearted, avuncular statesman.

4. Then again, as to point 3(a), there are senators who are kind and respectful to colleagues—and to everyone else, when in public—but verbally abuse staff when they think no one is watching. Perhaps Biden was one of them, and the article suggests he was.

5. Senators caught mistreating staff often invoke this defense (oddly through staff): “It’s not to embarrass people, it’s because he wants to get to the right decision. Most people who have worked for him like the fact that he challenges them and gets them to a better decision.”

6. In fact, those exact words came from Biden’s longtime Senate chief of staff. The term “Stockholm syndrome” comes to mind. This is the profile of an abuser.

7. I wish the article spoke only in general terms or relied only on one or two uncorroborated stories that could easily be dismissed as one-off anecdotes. I’d be less concerned. But alas, the article paints no such picture.

This is obviously a fake story, imagined into existence to make Biden seem alert and edgy.

That’s a fair point. It’s also an open question whether (as I initially thought you were going to suggest) this is the Left’s way of announcing that they’re pushing Biden out.

And a little bit of history. This was announced to our community here in Papua:

This island greatly suffered under the Japanese occupation. Then, MacArthur came and directed much of his cleanup activities here. It was from his home/headquarters on top of the mountain where I reside that he planned his strategy for returning to the Philippines. When my class studied archeology, we did a bit of excavation in a cave used as an ammunition depot by the Japs. There is still undiscovered ordnance here. Before you ask, no, my class did not find any.
