My son was gone yesterday and my husband went with him to his ball game to watch him pitch. They returned to my sons place and he was greeted by an outside cat that comes and goes. As you said CB when they're on their own they eat what they can get. My son went inside and grabbed a bag of food and fed the cat in back on his deck. His visitor DOESN'T have a tail.(my son has a rescue girl cat that was at our house one very cold winters night)

Is your son playing college ball?
We had friends, while kids, who had a cat w/a missing tail. I think they named it NoTail...lol. Very creative :-)

Maybe the stray cat is a Manx.
They are born without a tail.
Didn’t you have one, Ms.B?

Many, many, years ago in the winter an orange bobbed tailed cat showed up at our house. He was a very loving cat. My husband named him "Qwik Stop" AKA "Qwiki." I eventually gave him to my youngest daughter.
He looked similar to this one.
