He is a beautiful cat. He might have a home and just likes to visit. Stray cats usually scarf down any food, not knowing when they’ll eat again. It looks like he takes good care of his coat too, strays don’t usually especially those with longer hair. He might just like you guys better! Or he doesn’t have shelter at his other house

My son was gone yesterday and my husband went with him to his ball game to watch him pitch. They returned to my sons place and he was greeted by an outside cat that comes and goes. As you said CB when they're on their own they eat what they can get. My son went inside and grabbed a bag of food and fed the cat in back on his deck. His visitor DOESN'T have a tail.(my son has a rescue girl cat that was at our house one very cold winters night)

I just checked and he didn’t come back last night.
I’ll leave the food out and pick it up before I go to bed tonight.
He does look like he is in good shape.
Doesn’t look like he’s been living in the wild for long.
My 1st thoughts when I saw the collar is he got abandoned by summer peeps when they left in the fall but you could be right that he has another home.
