‼️WATN - Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov has laid out five principles for Kiev’s use of cluster munitions:
🔹Ukraine will only use cluster munitions for “de-occupation”. “It will not be deployed on officially recognized Russian territory”;
🔹The cluster munitions will not be used in urban areas. Kiev intends to use them only where Russian military equipment is concentrated;
🔹Ukrainian authorities will keep “strict records” of where cluster munitions are used;
🔹The areas where such grenades were used will later be demined as a priority. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense promises to create a suitable legal framework for this;
🔹Kiev will inform its partners about the use of cluster munitions and their effectiveness “to ensure an adequate standard of transparent reporting and control”.
