FBI opened investigation in April 2022. Sent subpoena in May demanding production of files with âclassified markings.â Trump lawyers turned over 38 documents to DOJs Jay Bratt.
Bratt/DOJ then sought search warrant based on notion that bc NARA allegedly found classified docs in the 15 boxes there MUST BE classified records in remaining 80 or so White House boxes at Mar-a-Lago (he didnât pack them btw)
August 8, 2022âFBI conducts 9-hour raid again BASED ON INITIAL CLAIMS BY NARA. Agents abscond with 13,000 items.
Only 102 files allegedly have âclassified markings.â
Entire investigation/prosecution rests on NARAs claims under PRA. Now Smith is attempting to distance himself from origins of DOJ case.
