Minnie Driver is coming to Nicholas Cage's defense!
On Monday, June 26, the British actress praised the National Treasure lead on social media after a random person shared a shady story about the actor.
In the first upload, a bride explained she was forced to give up her hotel suite for an unnamed celebrity, who wound up being the movie star.
"On our wedding weekend, we saw Nicolas Cage walking around our hotel. Nic Cage tried to ruin my wedding and that's my story," the social media user said.
Driver countered the allegation by recalling a sweet memory about the Oscar winner.
"Was once on a plane with NC and his son and a seat had also been purchased for his son's imaginary friend đ¤," Driver wrote in response.
Fans replied to the Ella Enchanted star with mixed opinions on her anecdote.
"Think he just didn't want anyone else sitting in their row? đ ," one penned, while another pointed out, "Now that's a whole new level of wealth."
"This is amazing," a third user said, while a fourth stated, "Thank you for sharing that very Nicholas cage sweet thing to do â¤ď¸đ."
The details of Driver's claim are unclear, including which son he purchased the extra seat for.
I lived in the Los Feliz area of LA for years (on the edge of H'wood), my future wife worked at A&M records (receptionist) her roommate was an aspiring play write). During those years we had over a dozen chance encounters, or other opportunities, to interact with various "stars". I cannot recall a single time where they were not all classy people and very nice to us, even though we were punk nobodies, just starting out in life.
I always thought that Minnie Driver was a golf club for a small woman. (Thanks - I’ll show myself out.)
I’m sorry. Known quite a few musicians who were very warm and welcoming people. And a few actors as well. Sorry you had such a crappie experience. I did not kiss their butts and they did not want me to. Just honestly good people. They are out there, just don’t label them as dirtbags so fast. They are not all the same. Thanks.
“Tia Leone is his cousin.”
You mean Tea Leone? The one opposite him in Family Man? Sexy bedroom scenes? They’re cousins? Just eeewwww. (Unless they’re 4th cousins or beyond.)
I may be wrong! Been wrong before! That’s like Biden smut! Hope I’m wrong!
Tea Leone is his cousin fool. She married the xfiles guy, not her cousin. Damn. You about started some crap!
Even 4th cousin is gross.
Iâm assuming this was meant for someone else. Take care
“Tea Leone is his cousin fool.”
I believe you’re responding to the wrong FReeper. FOOL. I’m thinking you didn’t do well in SQ3R in school.
“She married the xfiles guy, not her cousin.”
I never said she married Cage. On the MOVIE, “Family Guy”, they were married, and acting like a married couple — in bed, etc. Leone and Cage’s couldn’t be cousins unless the casting people are a little “off”.
I know that she and Duchovny are husband and wife, and have been for a very long time.
Drunk posting in the middle of the night ... not a good idea.
Tea Leoni was in an episode of the X-Files where she is a movie star and going to play the role of Scully and is on the case with them to get into her character. Comedian Gary Shandling was the actor that was going to play Mulder.
After a day with them, Mulder says to Scully something like “Hey - I think that actress likes me - what do you think?”
“Oh dream on Mulder.”
We loved X-Files. Except “Home” which was super creepy.
Well, his work ethic may have something to do with having been robbed of all his previous earnings by crooked management.
I looked it up but could find no evidence anywhere that Tea Leone is Nicholas Cageâs cousin or related to him in any way. Cage is however first cousins with Sofia Coppola and actor Jason Schwartzman.
The movie in questions with her and Cage was âThe Family Manâ not âFamily Guyâ. The Family Man was IMO a very good movie, sort of a retelling of both A Christmas Carole and Itâs a Wonderful Life. I found the ending both sad, bittersweet yet somewhat hopeful.
Leone and Duchovny divorced in 2014. This was after Duchovny checked into a rehab in 2008 for âsexual addictionâ and when they first separated. They reconciled for a time afterward but later separated again in 2011 and divorced in 2014. Leone has been âpartnersâ with her âMadam Secretaryâ TV showâs co-star Tim Daly since 2014.
I like him too, especially since he was in one of my all-time favorite movies, Raising Arizona.
I watch “The Family Man” quite often. It’s one of my favorites. Similar is “Comfort And Joy”, but it never is showed any more, and it costs about $90 to buy it.
Of course, Leone and Cage aren’t cousins.
Another fan of âThe Family Manâ...although the final scene is a bit disappointing
HUGE fan of Raising Arizona - an early Coen Brothers films
I thought the opposite. It was sort of a reverse of the theme of It's a Wonderful Life.
Instead of Cage (Jack) seeing a future without him like George Bailey where everything was awful without him, Jack is shown an alternative future where instead of being a selfish and money-grubbing jerk and actually lonely man that he is in reality, he was shown an alternative of what his life might have been like had he made other choices - a loving wife and kids, a middle class, sometimes struggling and rocky, a life not as a wealthy business executive but a tire salesman, his wife working PT as a non-profit lawyer not making much money but making a difference, but yet a very happy existence, but it was just an illusion of what might have been but wasnât.
George Bailey was sent back to his happy existence whereas Jack was sent back to his cold, empty and lonely life.
The ending IMO was perfect. He reconnects with Kate and tries to tell her about the future he had seen but knows wasnât real but convinces here that it still could be. She delays her flight to Paris, and they have coffee so their future is left to our imagination.

Poorly written story, no details on anything or the circumstances of the hotel suite, etc..
