So cool to see history coming back to life, in a way.

A few years ago, a pastor said that the modern-day city of Emmaus might not be the biblical city...has anyone heard that?
It seems like it would be a huge amount of work to bury ruins then build on top of them.

fascinating. a lot of hard work being done on that dig. finding especially the 200 year gap of 6 meteres, when the town was flooded completely out. cursed? and amazing how much geological change can happen in just two centuries.

Since James and John, the sons of Zebedee, were fishing very near Peter and Andrew (Luke 5.10 calls them Simon's partners), they were presumably from the same town. But in Luke 4, Jesus leaves a synagogue in Capernaum and then goes to the house of Simon (where he cures Simon's mother-in-law), as if Simon was living in Capernaum. But Bethsaida is not far away.
Mark 8.22-26 tells of Jesus healing a blind man (unnamed) in Bethsaida.
