A few years ago, a pastor said that the modern-day city of Emmaus might not be the biblical city...has anyone heard that?
It seems like it would be a huge amount of work to bury ruins then build on top of them.
Emmaus is not a current name for a town in Israel. Same problem as Bethsaida. Multiple spots that might meet the criteria.
