'I'm being indicted for you' Trump tells his MAGA faithful at Republican Christian conference - calling the criminal charges a 'great badge of courage'

Former President Donald Trump rolled out a possible new campaign slogan Saturday night at the Faith & Freedom Coalition conference in Washington, D.C.: 'I'm being indicted for you.'

Trump headlined the conference's Saturday night gala and continued to complain about the recent federal charges brought against him for mishandling classified materials, again arguing that he was merely an ex-president 'legally keeping his own documents.'

He earned a 'USA' chant from the crowd as he proclaimed, 'I'm probably the only person in history who was indicted and my numbers went up.'

'Everytime the radical left Democrats, Marxist, communists and fascists indict me, I consider it a great badge of courage,' Trump said.

Trump knocked around President Joe Biden for son Hunter's business dealings with China - portraying the president as soft on the rising power due to his family's financial entanglements.

'Joe Biden is the most corrupt president in the history of our country, by far,' he said.

'Just two days ago, a very respected IRS whistleblower revealed that Crooked Joe sat in a room while his son, Hunter, messaged a Chinese Communist Party Official,' the former president continued.

Trump then read to the crowd a text message from Hunter to a Chinese business associate.

In the text, Hunter says he's with his father and then tells the associate: 'and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled.'

'This is cash he's talking about,' Trump told the crowd of the 'commitment.' 'Within ten days, the Bidens got $5.1 million from China.'

'Can you believe that? I didn't know that he was that tough,' Trump said of Hunter, earning laughs.

Trump then claimed that Biden 'wants to do nothing because he can't' on China wanting to build a troop training facility on Cuba...

“”BTW, Reagan routinely used the term swamp””

You said Reagan used the term, “Swamp” routinely. Lets see just 2 examples where Reagan used the term to describe government corruption?

Unlike today where everything is archived via YouTube or things like it, it wasn’t done that way then. I recall hearing more than once and produced a time he used it. As did Pelosi. And the other thing they have in common, they all failed.

'Sometimes it's difficult to remember you didn't send us to Washington to feed the alligators, you sent us to drain the swamp. We didn't come to raise your taxes but to lower them,'' the president said.

Dallas Morning News 2/6/85 pg 15a There was bound to be some growth in the federal establishment and its responsibilities, certainly, in 21 years. But who would have predicted in 1980, when Ronald Reagan was campaigning for the White House and promising to “drain the swamp’ in Washington, that in four years he would be submitting a budget only an eyelash under a trillion bucks?

What? What are you talking about joe?

I've asked you 5 times to show me where Reagan used the term, “Swamp routinely" to describe government corruption. I'm not talking about taxes...I'm talking about using the term swamp to described criminal corruption at top levels of this government.

And you have not given me one single example. What's up with that joe?

U.S. President Ronald Reagan, in 1983, looked back on a year in office and reminded himself that ‘’you’re here to drain the swamp’’ of big government.

Big government? I was talking about the claim Reagan used the term swamp to refer to widespread government corruption, at the highest levels, which Trump has talked about 400 times now.

I think the mistake here is some assume Reagan used the term “swamp” to describe high treason in government when he did not.

Reagans use of the word swamp was in regards to taxes, mismanagement, overregulation etc...

You keep moving the goal posts. Fact of the matter, Trump ain’t the first to promise to drain the swamp.

You’re a very disingenuous person. And I’ve noted most who do not like Trump fit this description.

When Trump talks about the swamp, he makes it clear it’s about corruption and tyranny at the highest levels of government.

You didn’t provide one instance where Reagan used the term in the same regard.

Nice try.

Reagan likely would have referenced Mr. Trump as a creature of the swamp that needed eradicated. Tyrannical and corruption at the highest level.
