There is a series of Bourne movies, including “The Bourne Identity” and “The Bourne Supremacy”, and more. Very good, thrilling action/drama series of movies.

The CIA, in the movie, utilized a system called “Operation Treadstone” to try to create a “super-agent” and Bourne was drawn into that program at a time prior to the movies. That is a piece of his past that had been erased. Kind of a parallel to something like MK/Ultra or other CIA brainwashing programs in the real world.
