I’m doing fine, just need to take blood thinners.
I have the type of Afib where my heart does not race, no valve issues, no high blood pressure, just that it beats with a hiccup and Dr said it is only 75% efficent at pumping blood and I was at high risk of clots because of this. Would mean I have less energy and would tend to tire quickly
I decided the best thing to do was to lose weight so lost about 55 lbs (25% of my weight) so heart 75% efficient heart had 25% less work to do. Now I do not notice any less energy or do not tire any easier than my pre-Afib days.
Was lucky they caught it, had no symptoms. A nurse doing an annual home health visit (part of our supplemental health care benefits) noticed something unusual when listening to my heart beat. Many with Asymptomatic Afib experience a stroke before realizing they have it.
If I had to do it again would not get the vax. When vax released in Jan did not get it initially, waited until March after seeing dozens of friends get it with no issues. SIL (a physician but liberal) strongly advised getting vax’ed but wife and I only did so after watching others get it without issues and also was influenced a lot by Trump pushing the vax, more so than SIL.
Common for someone my age to get Afib but had a full physical in August before getting the vax in March and did not have it. Could have not been vax related but very possible it was?
I refused to get 3rd vax or any others and SIL is furious with me, said I was putting his mother at risk? Wife did get 3rd booster even though I strongly opposed her doing so!
