I find them fanciful. Is there really any way to recreate a face from a 1300 year old skull?

Then adding in all these elaborate details?

She looks well fed and somehow I doubt that. Now hair and eyes, they could be working off what was average based on DNA data. Fanciful is a good word for it.

I think they can get pretty close. They’ve reconstructed modern skulls of unknown missing people which were later recognized by family.

Forensic anthropologists do it. You can see quite a few on websites about unidentified homicide victims.
