As electric vehicles (EVs) become increasingly popular, Walmart has announced plans to build EV charging stations at thousands of Walmart and Sam’s Club locations across the country by 2030.
“With a store or club located within 10 miles of approximately 90% of Americans, we are uniquely positioned to deliver a convenient charging option that will help make EV ownership possible whether people live in rural, suburban, or urban areas,” wrote Walmart’s Senior Vice President of Energy Transformation Vishal Kapadia in a release.
By installing charging stations across the country, Walmart makes owning an EV easier for drivers who worry they won’t be able to find a place to charge their vehicle.
“Easy access to on-the-go charging is a game-changer for drivers who have been hesitant to purchase an EV for concerns they won’t be able to find a charger in a clean, bright, and safe location when needed,” Kapadia wrote.
Already, 280 Walmart and Sam’s Club locations in the U.S. offer nearly 1,300 fast-charging stations for electric vehicles.

Then go drive your Mustang, enjoy it, and leave those of us who don’t want to hear your incessant whining about EVs, to our EVs! You’re not the gestapo, and you can’t make me like what you like. #getoffmylawn
You seem to think there are no chargers anywhere already and everyone will have to charge their cars at Walmart. Do you not have chargers where you live?
It seems easier to charge a car than go to a gas station to me.
We were talking about WalMart. No?
Btw, do ya think when they get 40+ million EVs on the roads the grid in CA and elsewhere will handle it?
Are you in CA Kathy?
Copper crooks everywhere now rejoice they can steal while going to Walmart
The ev vehicle fires will become a local Walmart attraction.
If I'm in a hurry, I can fill up in about 4 minutes and drive over 325 miles. How about you Kathy?
Yes I’m in CA. I can make sure I’m charged by plugging in at home and if I need to charge while I’m around town there are chargers at grocery stores, malls, strip centers, restaurants, office buildings, gyms, movie theatres and probably places I don’t know about. If I’m driving beyond range I just plan ahead. I’m surprised you’re not still riding around with a horse and buggy
The last time I went to Walmart I parked between a Tesla and a Maserati. I’m sure they both made it home without refueling.
I noted you opted to evade this question. Lets try again.
Do ya think when they get 40+ million EVs on the roads the grid in CA and elsewhere will handle it?
I think they will handle it. Especially since so many people charge at home and just use their cars around town. Oh wait, I forgot about how there aren’t enough gas stations for all the cars that run on gas to fill up. I wonder how they will ever fix that problem.
I think they will handle it.
Kathy, the grid can't handle the load we have NOW. How will it cope with an additional 40 million large energy sucking electrical appliances on the roads?
??
GFYS. You are the EV Nazi.
“Well dem golf carts used to be nice.”
My dad let me drive golf carts as a bribe to get me interested in golf when I was 8 LOL.
Steal a car, wear a mask, and steal away. When you need the police, they are 15 minutes away at the best.
Think that assertion through. As long as someone is sitting in the car, with a weapon, what is to stop a homeless guy from taking the entire cable? It is easier than cutting one off.
Well you are quite correct!
Yourself is one word, so it should be GFY. #getalife
