I never knew mealworms were chicken feed.
Always thought chicken feed was ground up corn
I'm looking at chicken in a different way now, after seeing this website.
I'm not a chicken farmer so I don't know.
I guess chickens will eat anything.

When I mow my lawn with the zero turn, it’s hilarious to watch them follow me around and catch all the fleeing insects.

If you got a coop with hens. When one gets sick or weak, the others will peck it to death.

Mice are chicken feed, if they’re not fast enough.

Lol, yep... In the desert it would be lizards, scorpions, and tarantulas.

The hens used to make a beeline to the molehills in the morning, to see what the cats may have buried there. “Free range” birds get a widely varied diet.

“I never knew mealworms were chicken feed.”
We used to keep mealworms in the fridge for wild birds.
Papa Wren would lead me to his brood to get the delicacies.

Plus, as a child, when I would accidentally drop an egg in the hen-house while collecting for my grandmother... the hens would immediately run towards the broken egg on the floor and chow down.

Geckos come out to catch insects when I work in the yard.

Bluebirds among others love dried mealworms. I keep a steady supply on hand.

If you’re suggesting this is potential people food after the “Transition” forget it. We buy them for bluebirds, mockingbirds, etc. (As bird food goes, not cheap!)
To: nwrep
No. It’s a result of overcrowding. Without the coop, the birds would distribute themselves over a wider area.
